Champions league draw, as it happened

So here we go, as i sit here listening to that twat on TalkSport in the sun with a cup of coffee.

It's a very nervous time as this is the first hurdle and you always hope to get a "good group". As normal as Arsenal are in pot 2 with Manchester City and the spuds sit in pot 3. Leicester the champions are in pot and to be fair rightly so. If you win the league you should be in the top pot.

We know the group stages pan out your chances, obvious thing to say i know but you do expect all the 4 English clubs to qualify. How you qualify makes a huge change, no one wants to come second in the group.

Off hand i think the main threats are the same old suspects. Bayern, Barca and Real Madrid are the top 3 in my mind. I think one of those 3 will be lifting the trophy in May next year.

We all hope Leicester do well but you have to be realistic and think this may be a step too far. Very hard to win this as youdon'tt get the joy of Bournemouth at home. No disrespect to Bournemouth of course.

As we wait for the all the chit chat to get out of the way here is a little video i found funny... enjoy.

What a bunch of idiots.

But back to business.

So Barca are group C.
Leicester are group G.
Real Madrid group F.
Group D Is Bayern Munich.
Benfica fall into Group B.
CSKA are in group E.
PSG head group A.
Group H have Juventus.

So that is the first bit done. We know who we want to avoid and now lets hope that happens.

The King Henry has arrived!!!

So the first team to be drawn from Pot 2 is Porto and they are in Group G with Leicester. Tough one for Leicester.

Sevilla are drawn next and we never expect them to get far in this as the normally win the Europa lol they are in Group H with Juventus.

Dortmund land in Group F with Real Madrid. A fixture i cannot wait to see. Gret game due there.

Arsenal have had a lucky escape with Pot A so we land with PSG. With Zlatan gone i fancy that fixture. So far so good for us gooners.

Napoli are drawn into Group B with Benfica. Bayern Levekusen are drawn into Group E with CSKA.

Not looking good for those "citeh" fans at the moment.

Atletico fall into Group D with Bayern and WHOOPPPSSS is that Man City in Group C with Barcelona? At least Milner wont get nutmegged this year! Hard draw for Manchester city. Can Pep beat Barca at the nou camp? I dont think he can.

So as we stand..

Group A - PSG, Arsenal
Group B - Benfica, Napoli
Group C - Barca, Manchester City
Group D - Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid
Group E - CSKA, Bayern Leverkusen
Group F - Real Madrid, Dortmund
Group G - Leicester City, Porto

So far so good. Stand out fixture is of course Barcelona and Manchester city.

Spurs cannot be drawn in Group A, C and G. From what i can hear there maybe a possibility they cannot be drawn into Group B, unsure as to the reasons why if i am honest. There is a chance that Tottenham can fall into Group F and again we may see them on a Thursday night.

Now onto Pot 3.

Lyon are drawn into Group H and join Juventus, Sevilla and Lyon.
Sporting are drawn into Group F with Real Madrid and Dortmund saving Spurs.
The Spuds are drawn into Group E with CSKA and Leverkusen.

The reason Tottenham could not be drawn into the top groups was because of the TV coverage. Apologies for the confusion.

Dynamo Kiev land in Group B with Benfica and Napoli.

Bayern and Atletico are joined by PSV in group D.

Club Brugge fall into Group G with Leicester and Porto. Good draw so far for Leicester.

Basel join us in Group A and (here it goes) Borussia Monchengladbach "phew" land in group C with Barca and Man City.

So that is the Pot 3 drawn and the groups so far are:

Group A - PSG, Arsenal and Basel
Group B - Benfica, Napoli and Dynamo Kiev
Group C - Barcelona, Man City and Borussia Mon (that will have to do)
Group D - Bayern, Atletico and PSV
Group E - CSKA, Leverkusen and Spurs
Group F - Real Madrid, Dortmund and Sporting
Group H - Juventus, Sevilla and Lyon
Group G - Leicester, Porto and Club Brugge

Pot 4 being drawn so we can close the groups off.

First one out is Ludogrets (not a clue) and they make up Group A. As far as im concerned this is a group we will win. PSG will be tough away but i think we have this one in the bag.

Compenhagen complete Group G and Leicesters first Champions league outing looks to be a tasty one for them Must be comfident with that group. Leicester should top that.

Group F is now complete with Legia Warsaw making up the numbers and without sounding too bad i think they are only there to make up the numbers.

Monaco are the last one in Group E and that will make life difficult for Tottenham. Cant call this group as honestly couldnt give a shit! lol

Dinamo Zagreb complete Group H and you have to fancy Juventus to win the group and it surely has to be between Sevilla and Lyon to qualify.

Group D have Rostov to complete the group with Bayern and Atletico. PSV and Rostov to finish 3rd third and fourth. Think Bayern will win that one.

Besiktas complete Group B and Celtic join the death group in group C with Man City and Barca. Can we see Celtic turn them over again? I doubt it.

So that is all the groups complete and there are as follows.

Group A - PSG, Arsenal, Basel and Ludogrets
Group B - Benfica, Napoli, Dynamo Kiev and Besiktas
Group C - Barcelona, Man City, Borussia Mon (im not doing it again) and Celtic
Group D - Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, PSV and Rostov
Group E - CSKA, Leverkusen, Spuds and Monaco
Group F - Real Madrid, Dortmund, Sporting and LEgia Warsaw
Group H - Juventus, Sevilla, Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb
Group G - Leicester, Porto, Club Brugge and Compenhagen

I dont fancy Manchester City's chances but really looking forward to Pep taking them to the nou camp. Should be one hell of a fixture.

Arsenal should win the group and i cannot see Leicester not qualifying. Tottenham will have to play well away from home to be successful here as that CSKA fixture will be a costly one if it does not bring a result.
