Premier league Transfer don't always go to plan

14/05/2015

I have been able to find a few more hours down the pub these last few weeks where conversations will always be about football and in all fairness i feel we come up with some good points. In 3 seasons time who will be top? We all know this can change from season to season with some owners stumping up huge amounts of money for players.

This season we saw Di Maria a £59.7M world cup finalist and champions league winner join Manchester united and completely flop in his first season. A draw away at Cambridge in the FA cup being my personal highlight. United also brought in Falcao on loan and lets be honest he has been absolute dog shit since donning the red shirt.

Mario Balotelli came back to the premier league from AC Milan where he had a good spell and again since joining Liverpool he has been awful. Big money deals that have not delivered.

Chelsea signed a 40 year old drug cartel gang member in Diego Costa and he has had a good season but injuries have prevented him playing as much football as he should.

Everton signed Lukaku from Chelsea after his season loan there last season worked so well but has failed to live up to the "hype" this season. Liverpool in my eyes have made the worst signings this seasons after selling Suarez in the summer to Barcelona. Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Markovic to name a few have come in. Bad bad move by Brendan Rogers and by falling out of the champions league in the group stages and not being able to qualify for next season in the elite competition he has spunked away millions upon millions pounds on mediocre players.

This is why English clubs will never be considered a favourites for ANY european competition. Even in the UEFA cup the english teams do not do very well against the "lesser" teams from abroad. No offence intended there but when spurs are playing Besiktas you would think they could win that. I know we are talking about that other team in north London that lives in the shadow of others but its a team Arsenal brushed a side with ease when they had to qualify for europe last season.

As i have mentioned Tottenham we may aswell bring them into the conversation. When they sold Bale they could have brought 3-4 world class players. They had the perfect opportunity to bring in some fantastic talent to the club and push on for a top 4 place in the league and maybe even enjoy a cup run. That would have been the sensible approach. Typically they did not do that.

They bought in a kebab van owner in Chadli who cost them £7M. Roberto Soldado for £26M from Valencia and his scoring record is something else, 16 Goals in 47 appearances and about 200 missed chances. Erik Lamela cost £25.7M from Roma and well i dont really have the 2 minutes to discuss this "prospect" but i am glad he signed for Spurs. As my eyes saw it Tottenham sold Bale, brought Lamela in with the Bale money allowing Roma to buy Gervinho allowing arsenal to add to their funds to buy Ozil from Madrid who needed to recoup some of the Bale money. Now breathe. What i basically mean is that EVERY ARSENAL fan loved the fact that spurs paid that much money for Lamela after losing Bale while we signed Ozil.

So in my eyes spurs are fucked for years to come and that superstar Harry Kane will not settle for shite football week in week out if he keeps progressing at this rate. So we can write of spurs and Liverpool too. Manchester united are too much of a heavy weight team not to be competing and with the finances available to them they will always be knocking around top of the table. Manchester city have an old squad that needs renewing so after rebuilding a squad there is going to be a spell where they may fall slightly behind. Chelsea again will lose some big players in the next few years with John Terry getting older that will leave a HUGE whole in their defence. Diego Costa will be picking up his pension in no time and i personally just dislike them and wish them no luck at all.

But me being the optimist that i am have a good feeling finally about Arsenal. Bellerin, Chambers,
Ox, Gnabry, Welbeck, Wellington Silva, Joel Campbell, Coquelin, Ramsey and Wilshere all have their best years to come. Add on to that squad with Sanchez, Giroud, Ozil and Cazorla and i can only see us laughing at a talented squad. The odd tweek here and there and they will be a fine tuned team.
Now Wenger has the money to spend he is spending it wisely and his buying top class players, unlike spurs and their kebab van owner.

All in all i just wanted to make a few points and as i haven't really stated how i feel on certain subjects i thought i would let rip a little here and mug off every other team as we do get a hammering by everyone for being Arsenal fans.

"The Wanky Tottenham went to Rome to see the Pope!"
