Is Giroud proving all the haters wrong?

+Stephen Couling (CoulingKnows)

There has been a lot of discussion over Arsenals beautiful french forward for several seasons now. Some despise him and refuse to rate him at all where others (like myself) think he is getting better and better.

When Arsene chose to sign Giroud i think it was fair to say Arsenal fans were not really ecstatic about it. Happy new blood was coming in but he wasn't world class/ He had just won the french league with Montpellier in what they branded a freak win where Giroud finished the season as joint top goal scorer so you knew there was promise there. The difference is this is the premier league and you will either succeed or fail.

First Goal against West Ham
He came in with Lukas Podolski who had racked up over 100 caps for Germany and left Cologne as club Captain. The experience and the hammer that was Podolski's left foot had me think Giroud would be a squad player as the Van Persie left and there was a space to fill. Oddly Wenger favoured Giroud through the centre and after eventually scoring his first goal away at West ham he has looked like he had just finally found some footing in this physical league. His first season was not the greatest but you could see over the last few seasons he has got better, tougher and his goals are becoming a dream to watch.

I backed him from the start of every season and he was good last year and this season he is becoming very good. He is not the normal Arsenal striker and i think people find that hard to see past. He won't play off the last defender and won't run 40 yards with the ball. But he will out muscle defenders, play a perfect through ball and hold the play up to allow the Arsenal superstar midfielders to get back into play.

Screamer against Man City in Charity Shield
For me he is magic and like a fine wine, he is getting better with age.

Away against Bayern Munich
If i was a gambling man (which i am no longer) i would have money on him scoring against Chelsea today. John Terry and Co are due for a hard afternoon with this guy on the pitch.
